SEO Features

Search Engine Optimization

Emit correct, complete structured data and improve per-article quality signals for traditional search engines.

Structured Data (JSON-LD)

Automatically emits a clean @graph with Organization, WebSite, and per-article schema. Supports NewsArticle, Article, BlogPosting, ReportageNewsArticle, and OpinionNewsArticle — choose the right type per post.

FAQ Schema

Turn per-article Q&A pairs into FAQPage JSON-LD, valid structured data that can appear as rich results in search. Optionally renders an on-page accordion for readers.

Per-Article Optimization Box

A dedicated meta box in every post editor for TL;DR summary, 3–5 key takeaways, and FAQ pairs. All admin-written — nothing is auto-generated.

Citability Analyzer (0–100)

Scores each article against AEO/GEO/LLMO best practices: lead answer quality, heading structure, statistics with sources, images with alt text, author bio, word count, and more. Score is visible in the Posts list column.

GEO Features

AI Search Readiness

Improve the signals AI systems use to find, understand, and potentially cite your content. These are readiness signals — not ranking guarantees.

AI Crawler Control

A clear, grouped table of 14 AI crawlers split into Search (citation-relevant: GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, and more) and Training (bulk scrapers: CCBot, Bytespider, etc.). Each has a manual allow/disallow toggle that writes directly into robots.txt.

Dynamic llms.txt

Serves a maintained /llms.txt describing your outlet, key pages, sections, and recent articles. Gives AI language models a structured, machine-readable map of your site. Treated as an optional readiness signal — not a ranking guarantee.

Speakable Markup

Optionally adds speakable schema to articles, flagging the most quotable passages for voice assistants and AI answer systems.

Site Dashboard

Admin dashboard shows average citability across all published articles, how many posts are missing a TL;DR or FAQ, active feature status, and the lowest-scoring articles to fix first.

Admin Panel Overview

Everything lives under Contento AI in your WordPress admin sidebar, organized across seven tabs.

Dashboard

Average citability score, missing TL;DR/FAQ counts, lowest-scoring articles, active feature summary.

General & Publisher

Publisher name, logo, social profiles, supported post types, and site-wide settings.

Structured Data

Enable/disable JSON-LD output, choose default article type, configure speakable and WebSite search action.

On-page Blocks

Show/hide the TL;DR block, key takeaways block, and FAQ accordion on the front end.

AI Crawlers

Per-crawler allow/disallow table. Search crawlers allowed by default; bulk training scrapers blocked by default.

llms.txt

Enable dynamic /llms.txt, customize the outlet description, add manual links, control article count.

Help

Inline glossary explaining AIO, AEO, GEO, LLMO, llms.txt, and each schema type.

What This Plugin Does Not Do

Make external API calls or send your data anywhere

Auto-generate content, summaries, or FAQ answers

Modify content without your explicit input in the editor

Guarantee visibility in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, or any AI system

Push automatic plugin updates to your WordPress dashboard

Store WordPress credentials externally

AI search visibility is determined by many off-site factors — brand authority, third-party mentions, and how each AI system decides to surface content — that are outside the control of any WordPress plugin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it send my data anywhere or use AI to write content?

No. There are no external API calls, no tracking, and nothing is auto-generated. Every field is written by you in the WordPress admin. The plugin is entirely self-contained.

I already run Yoast SEO or Rank Math. Will schema conflict?

If your SEO plugin also outputs Article or Organization JSON-LD, enable only one source to avoid duplicate structured data. You can disable Contento's schema output on the Structured Data tab while keeping all other features active (citability analyzer, crawler control, llms.txt).

What is a citability score and how is it calculated?

The citability score (0–100) measures how well an individual article is structured to be found, understood, and cited by AI systems. It checks for: a TL;DR summary, a direct lead answer (25–90 words), H2/H3 heading use, question-style headings, bullet/numbered lists, word count (500+ words), statistics with cited sources, images with alt text, FAQ content, author bio, and external links to authoritative sources. Each check contributes a defined number of points.

What crawlers does it control and what are the defaults?

The plugin manages 14 AI crawlers in two groups. Search crawlers (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Amazonbot, DuckAssistBot) are allowed by default — these drive AI search citations. Training/scraping crawlers (anthropic-ai, CCBot, Bytespider, cohere-ai, Applebot-Extended, Meta-ExternalAgent) are blocked by default. You can toggle each one individually.

What is llms.txt and is it required?

llms.txt is an emerging optional standard that lets site owners give AI language models a structured, machine-readable overview of their site — similar to robots.txt but for AI context rather than crawl control. The plugin dynamically serves /llms.txt with your outlet description, key pages, sections, and recent articles. It is an optional readiness signal, not a mandatory standard or ranking factor.

Does it work on custom post types?

Yes. Choose which post types it manages on the General & Publisher tab. It defaults to Posts.

Will it guarantee my site appears in AI Overviews or ChatGPT answers?

No. The plugin improves the on-site signals that AI systems look for — entity clarity, structured data, content structure, and crawler accessibility. Off-site authority, brand reputation, content quality, and how each AI system decides to surface content are outside any plugin's control.

What does "lifetime upgrades" mean?

Your $19 one-time payment entitles you to all future version updates of Contento AI Optimizer at no additional cost. Updates are delivered as new ZIP files — the plugin does not push automatic updates to your WordPress dashboard. When a new version is released, you can download it and re-upload via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.

Why isn't /llms.txt loading after activation?

Go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes once. This flushes WordPress rewrite rules so the dynamic /llms.txt endpoint resolves. If a physical llms.txt file exists in your site root, it will take precedence over the dynamic one.
